Until recently I was exclusively a
cat person. I certainly never had a problem with dogs, except for a pesky
allergy the inhibited my ability to breath and would leave me with hives all
over any area in contact with a dog. Then I got married. My husband had had a
life long ambition to have a dog. What boy doesn't? Due to circumstances beyond
his control, he was never able to fulfill this ambition. Until now. We talked
about getting a dog when we moved in to house, but worried that the commute we
would have to make would make housebreaking difficult. At the moment my dear
husband has a commute that takes only minutes. Then I saw the cutest dog collar
at Old Navy. I bought it. Dog collar, no dog...hrmm. We talked a little about
the logistics of getting a dog in our current situation, and came to the
decision to think about it. So I checked out a website I had book marked, and lo
and behold, they had a littler of puppies that would be ready to go to new homes
at the same time my husband would be starting his three week vacation. AND they
shared a birthday with him!! They all seemed like pretty good excuses, so next
thing you know, we are on our way to pick up our chocolate lab puppy. Now I am
not only a cat person, but a bonafide dog person as well.
Since getting Mazzy life has been
challenging to say the least. She has boundless energy, and the walks my husband
takes her on for hours every day seem to stave off her mischievousness for only
moments. As she gets bigger, handling her energy has become a full time job. One
of the easies times to do this is during her evening time at the park when she
can let it all out. Living in an urban center means small parks, but plenty of
dogs. I have developed an unexpected hobby as a result of Mazzy's play time.
Dogography!! Our local park while not off leash is host to a myriad of dogs or
all shapes and sizes.
Please forgive me if you were
expecting to see new pictures of your dog on the site and they are not here. I
am an amateur photographer and a lot of the pictures I take don't turn out quite
as I'd like them too.
